My mission is to foster a welcoming space for undergraduate students to engage in pursuits that excite them, and offer my support, guidance, and resources towards achieving their goals.
Independent Research
I strive to to help build my students’ confidence in their capabilities as researchers and independent thinkers. I have mentored multiple undergraduate students through UCLA’s Student Research Program which cultivates entry-level undergraduate research experiences. You can read more about the products of these short research projects here:
Pedagogical Training
Through my Learning Assistant Program and other peer-teaching opportunities in my courses, I direct and train interested undergraduate students in the best practices in teaching. I use this as an opportunity to also guide them about effective learning strategies and self-directed learning to better support their academic activities.
Career Counseling
I act as a sounding board for my students and help them brainstorm career possibilities, identify career trajectories, and establish action plans to reach professional goals. Through this, I encourage them to acknowledge their achievements, reflect on short-term and long-term goals, and celebrate their successes along their college journey.
Community Building
I am the faculty advisor of Phi Sigma Rho, a sorority for women in engineering and hard sciences. I would like to be a positive role model and guide for women in science and support their activities, provide feedback and guidance, and offer personal advising appointments.
